For the purpose of this site, we refer to Prams as the old fashioned baby carriage that is essentially a bed on wheels with a sun shade. Prams or baby carriages are only used by infants since a child of toddler age would be too large and would not be safe in a pram.
Most prams are quite expensive. That trait along with the fact that they can only be used for a few short months before baby outgrows it, makes prams a very rare buying choice for new parents. However, there is obviously still a market for them. Brands such as Silver Cross and Inglesina definitely cater to this market.
Some baby carriages also convert to regular strollers. These are much more practical for the average everyday family. The Rock Star Baby I'coo Targo Stroller has a pram or bassinette attachment, for example. Once removed, it is a regular stroller.
