Double Strollers

Double strollers are often a necessity for growing families. Do you have twins?

Or just two small children? Either way, it can be a life saver! They come in several varieties: side by sides, tandems, sit and stands, and double jogging strollers. Each variety of twin stroller has its own set up strengths and weaknesses. Within each variety you'll also find different brands and different models, each of which have their own set of features. It can be daunting trying to find just the right twin stroller.

Side By Side Strollers:

Pros:

Children can see each other.
Both children can see their surroundings equally.
Both children are close enough that the parent can reach them quickly if necessary.

Cons:

The width can be difficult to get through doors.
The width can be difficult to maneuver through crowded spaces.
If your children are prone to fighting with each other, this type of stroller gives them easy access to each other.

Tandem Strollers:

Pros:

The narrow width allows for easy access through doors and tight spaces.
The children cannot reach each other and therefore cannot tease or pick on each other or disturb the other child if she or he is sleeping.

Cons:

Space in the rear seat can be a bit more limited than the space in the front seat, so if both children are the same size, the rear seat may become unusable before the front seat.
The length makes it difficult to get up over curbs.

Sit and Stand Strollers are tandem strollers in which there is only one main seat but there is a standing board for an older child to ride on in a standing position. Some Sit and Stands offer a small folding seat for the child. This type of stroller is perfect for the family with a baby who needs a full stroller and an older child who usually walks but occasionally wants a ride. It is a good compromise between a standard and a regular tandem stroller that can be a bit difficult to maneuver and store.

Double Jogging Strollers are great for the active family. They come in both side by side and tandem style.
